Mental Health Awareness
This four-hour session raises awareness of mental health & is recommended for all employees.
Your employees will gain:
• An understanding of what mental health is & how to challenge stigma
• A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
• An introduction to looking after their own mental health & maintaining wellbeing
• Confidence to offer support to someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue
Mental Health Champion
This 1-day course covers the content of the awareness course & is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, the skills to start a conversation & be able to signpost the person towards professional help. It also expands on the effects of drugs & alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan & covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.
Mental Health First Aid
This 2-day course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions & the support & help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the awareness & champion qualifications.
Your employees will gain:
• An in-depth understanding of Mental Health & the factors that can affect wellbeing
• Practical skills to spot the triggers & signs of a range of Mental Health issues
• Confidence to step in, reassure & support a person in distress
• Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening
• Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support, whether through self-help resources, internal support such as EAP or external sources such as their GP
• An understanding of how to keep themselves safe while performing their duties
