Door supervisors take a two-day top-up covering updated legislation, terror threat awareness, physical intervention re-certification and emergency first aid skills; security officers take a one day. You can start your renewal up to four months before your current licence expires, and the new licence begins when the old one runs out - so booking early costs you nothing. The SIA Door Supervisor qualification is the route to a door supervision licence and the most widely accepted SIA badge in the industry - it covers door work, event security, retail and static guarding, so most employers prefer it over the security guarding licence. Over six days you will cover the private security industry and the law that governs it, conflict management and de-escalation, terror threat awareness, drug and vulnerability awareness, searching, and the physical intervention skills that only appear on this course. Your Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, a licence prerequisite since 2021, is included rather than sold as an add-on, and you get two free resits if you do not pass first time. Classes are capped at 12 and taught by a former Hampshire police officer with twelve years’ operational service.

The Level 2 Award for CCTV Operators is the licence-linked qualification for public space surveillance work - shopping centres, transport hubs, town centre control rooms, corporate estates and local authority monitoring.
Three days covering the operation of CCTV equipment, proactive monitoring and incident detection, the legislation governing surveillance including data protection and the evidential standards your recordings must meet, and handover and reporting procedures. If you already hold an SIA licence, adding CCTV attracts a 50% discount on the SIA application fee.

An Ofqual-regulated Level 3 award for staff authorised to apply mechanical restraints in the course of their duties. The day covers the legal position and the tests of necessity and proportionality, dynamic risk assessment before application, correct and safe application technique, monitoring the person while restrained and recognising medical distress, and post-incident recording and review. Delivered on-site to your team.
