The Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety is the occupational competence standard named in the SGSA’s Green Guide and required by most stadiums, arenas and event organisers. It covers preparing for an event and briefing, crowd dynamics and the early signs of a developing problem, managing entry and egress, customer care in a crowd environment, dealing with physical and verbal aggression, and the steward’s role in an emergency evacuation. Delivered at your ground or venue so stewards learn on the site they will actually work.

Level 3 Certificate in Spectator Safety Supervision for senior stewards and supervisors. £1,295 for up to 12, delivered at your venue.
For supervisors and senior stewards who deploy and direct a team on event day. Builds on Level 2 with briefing and deploying stewards to a plan, dynamic risk assessment as an event develops, managing an incident and communicating with control, decision-making under pressure, and post-event debrief and reporting. Delivered on-site by a trainer who spent twelve years in policing and led teams operationally.

Front of Stage Pit Barrier Training | Live Events, Hampshire & London
Highfield Level 2 Award in Front of Stage Pit Barrier Operations. One-day on-site training, £495 for up to 12 crew.
The pit is the highest-risk position at a live music event and the one where things go wrong fastest. This one-day Level 2 award covers barrier construction, load and integrity, recognising crowd surge and progressive crush before it becomes an emergency, safe casualty extraction over the barrier, working with medics and the production team, and communication in an environment where you cannot hear each other.
